Step-by-Step Process to Pay Your E-Challan

Paying an E-Challan online is a simple and hassle-free process. Follow these steps to complete your payment:

Step 1: Visit the Official E-Challan Website

  • Open your browser and go to the Parivahan E-Challan portal: https://echallan.parivahan.gov.in

  • Alternatively, visit your state’s traffic police website if applicable.

Step 2: Enter Challan or Vehicle Details

  • Click on “Check Challan Status”

  • Enter any of the following details:

    • Challan Number

    • Vehicle Registration Number

    • Driving License Number (DL Number)

  • Fill in the Captcha Code and click “Get Details”

Step 3: View Challan Details

  • If a challan is issued against your vehicle, the details will be displayed, including:

    • Violation type

    • Date and location of the offense

    • Fine amount

Step 4: Proceed with Payment

  • Click on “Pay Now”

  • Choose a payment method:

    • Credit/Debit Card

    • Net Banking

    • UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, etc.)

Step 5: Save the Payment Receipt

  • Once the payment is successful, a receipt will be generated.

  • Download or take a screenshot for future reference.

  • You will also receive an SMS confirmation of the payment.

Step 6: Verify Payment Status

  • Revisit the E-Challan portal and enter your challan or vehicle details.

  • Check if the status shows “Paid” to confirm successful processing.

  • Traffic Police Website: Some states have dedicated portals for challan payments.
  • Mobile Apps: Pay through apps like Paytm, Google Pay, or your state’s traffic app.
  • Offline Payment: Visit the nearest Traffic Police Station to pay via cash or card.
