1. Official App for Aadhaar Services

  • Download from Google Play Store / Apple App Store: “mAadhaar” by UIDAI

  • Verify publisher: UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India)

2. What Can Be Updated via App

  • Name (minor changes)

  • Date of Birth (limited once)

  • Address (via document upload)

  • Photo (in pilot rollout stages)

  • Email & Mobile Number (via OTP-based authentication)

Note: Some updates (like biometrics, full name change) may still need a visit to Aadhaar Seva Kendra.

3. Uploading Documents

  • Upload scanned proofs (PDF/JPEG) for address changes.

  • Example: Passport, Utility Bill, Bank Statement, etc.

4. OTP-Based Authentication

  • OTP sent to your registered mobile number.

  • Required for all updates and logins.

5. Service Request Tracking

  • Track update status from the app directly.

  • Update usually takes 3–7 working days.

6. Digital Aadhaar Access

  • Carry your Aadhaar digitally through mAadhaar app.

  • Includes QR code, offline eKYC, and masked Aadhaar.

7. New Feature: Face Authentication Login (Pilot in some states)

  • Face unlock being tested for Aadhaar login instead of OTP.

8. Update History & Notification

  • See your last update date.

  • Get alerts for update approvals or rejections.

9. Security & Privacy

  • App is fully encrypted and UIDAI-compliant.

  • Always use the official app to avoid fraud.
